“Mm.” It’s a satisfying thought.
Wei Ying slips Lan Wangji’s outer robe off him, familiar hands smoothing over the cloth. He folds it and whirls away to place it on a shelf; Lan Wangji stops himself from reaching out to him. “I don’t have to exert myself to kidnap you now, though, do I?” Wei Ying looks him up and down. “You’ll go willingly to be Yiling-laozu’s plaything.”

Two weeks ago Lan Wangji had dreamed about Dual Cultivating with Wei Ying. He had dreamed about kissing Wei Ying’s neck as they made love and their Qi flowed between them, strong and pure. Dream Wei Ying had smiled, his skin golden and flushed, his eyes sparkling. He’ll never be able to think about it without remembering the Yiling Patriarch’s flat tone.

Already irritated, Wangji does not stop. Instead he grits his teeth and makes a sharp turn left— only for the grey and red robes of Wei Wuxian to swing into view.
“Lan Zhan! Don’t ignore me! Not when I got you a present!”
A present?
Despite himself, Wangji turns to face him, golden eyes zeroing in on the outstretched hand before him. His eyes widen.
Tanghulu?
He swallows. He has not had something so sweet in— far too long. The dark red fruit glistens, the hard sugar coating reflecting the midday sun. Slowly, almost against his own will, he reaches out and hesitantly takes the stick of candy from Wei Wuxian.
“I bought it for you, cause I figured you needed sweetening up!” the incorrigible, infuriating, how dare he— older man grins.

Lan Wangji tries to step back but someone is standing there already, grabbing onto his forearms and holding him in place as Wen Xu leans in far too close and takes a deep breath. His nose is almost touching Lan Wangji's throat, mouth perilously close to his scent glands and it's wrong enough it's an active effort not to growl or tremble - instead, Lan Wangji makes himself cold and still. He wouldn't dare. He wouldn't dare.
After a too-long moment Wen Xu steps back. Lan Wangji doubts he's able to mask the hatred he feels. Wen Xu meets his eyes with a giddy, gleeful smile.
"You're right," he says. "Looks like the second jade of Lan is human after all. He's going into heat."
Lan Wangji goes into heat as he's brought to the Wen sect's indoctrination. Wen Chao decides Wei Wuxian should 'help' him through it.

Shen Yuan wakes up. There are two people in his bed. This is less concerning than the blade pointed at his throat.
He sits up in alarm, almost decapitating himself. Luckily, the person holding the sword moves it away, leaving him unharmed; the pillow that he throws at the sword in instinct falls to a more dire fate. Cheap batting spills from the two halves of it as it drops, lifeless, to the bed. Shen Yuan scrambles to the other side of the bed as best he can, tangled in the sheets, and knees the third person in the side in the process.
Luo Binghe makes a winded hooph sort of noise, and jerks upright, majestic hair falling everywhere. His robes are draping open; Shen Yuan is seized with the instinct to bury his head in that stacked chest like an ostrich in the sand. Maybe wrap the robes around his face so he can’t see what’s going on. Luo Binghe will protect him, right? He counts as a harem member now, he should have all the dubious privileges that entails!

For him, yes, which is unsolicited and annoys and scares Wei Wuxian more than he could ever expect, but that’s what is good about arguing with Lan Zhan – Wei Wuxian can prove him wrong again and again. He is fine. He is in control.

Silently, Lan Zhan reaches into the blanket cocoon and pulls out an unopened test, holding it out to him. Of course he'd have another one—the most expensive brand the convenience store down the street carries. Wei Ying nibbles at his lip. "Seriously? You think I should...?"
A nod. Lan Zhan's expression has barely changed the entire time he’s been here, and Wei Ying is just as comforted by it as he is freaked; if they’re really in this big of a mess, then Lan Zhan will know what to do. He’ll figure it out. So, Wei Ying goes quietly all the way to the bathroom, does his thing, stands over the toilet, and watches the small screen on the pregnancy test thinking, thinking, thinking.
“It’s not possible,” he mutters.
But it is. The word blinks up, clear as can be. Pregnant.
Wangxian are friends with benefits & omegas. They share a heat together & get each other pregnant (on accident), which is, like, super awkward for Wei Ying because he's already broken rule #1 of FWBism: don't catch feelings. Whoops?

Lan Wangji wants to turn away from his gaze. He isn’t used to being seen. “No,” he says, because he doesn’t know how to explain what he’s looking for in the first place.
Wei Ying props his chin on his fist. “Can I guess?” Without waiting for an answer, he continues, “You’ve fallen in love with a pirate girl, and you’re waiting for her to steal you away to be the glittering jewel of her collection, so you can live on the open ocean together.” Lan Wangji narrows his eyes at him and Wei Ying bursts into laughter. "Ah well," he says. "I'll get it right next time."
