Summary
Once upon a time, Apollo had fallen in love with a mortal named Icarus and they had promised to be together. But when Icarus flew up to the sky and touched the sun, Zeus was angry, outraged, at the mortal’s disrespect. He broke the wings on Icarus’ back and forced his son to watch as the boy plummeted to the depths of the ocean and drowned, far away from the light of Apollo’s sun. It was a tale of love and a tale of hubris, and it had never stopped haunting Apollo. Nor had it ever left the ones he loved.
