Summary
Out of the avalanche of messages, there was only one that set his heart racing with surprise and pleasure. Happy birthday. That was it. Terse and to the point. No funny gifs or silly emojis. Nothing before it for days and nothing after it at all–exactly what Jamie would have expected from Roy Kent. Frankly, he was thrilled Roy remembered his birthday and even bothered to send a message. He was doubly thrilled by the fact that it came early in the morning. Like maybe Roy woke up and he had Jamie on his mind. Maybe he had dreamed about Jamie the night before. Maybe he had a calendar alert because he cared enough that he didn't want to forget about Jamie’s birthday–and maybe he didn’t even need the reminder.

Berghain is one of the most difficult techno clubs to get into. Oscar, house music connoisseur that he is, never thought he would see the inside of it.
But here he was, lights flashing all around him and music banging so hard it felt like it was changing the rhythm of his heartbeat. His pulse was far too fast, and blaming the music was much easier than admitting the other reason for why that could be.
