Summary
“Okay,” Dan says. He looks to the side, to Alessandra and the people bathed in the cold bright glow of the party, and feels so removed from them that his conversation with Blair might as well be happening in a different universe. “Okay. So, you’ve been hung up on me all this time”—he ignores her eye roll, like she doesn’t know what she’s doing—”and you’re divorcing your husband, who you only ever married for practical reasons, and what, exactly, do you want from me?”
or, dan writes a book about his relationship with blair, she shows up at the signing, and no one else is in the room for a while after that

Summary
Maya just wants a sliver of closure, the kind she’d never gotten before, because she supposes they’ve always been an open-ended question; unfinished, unanswered. If their timing had been better, if they’d met at a different place, then they wouldn’t be sitting here, now, with oceans between them.

Summary
“There’s no one else to live for anymore.” Clarke utters those words without too much emotion. They’ve had time over the years to reflect on all the people ripped away from their lives. It’s no longer a fierce, stabbing pain, just a kind of endless ache that surges and subsides with every breath they take. After all their efforts, they failed. The story of the Skai Kru would die with them. “We’re the last of our people.”
Bellamy finally looks up at her tone of voice and after a pause he says, slowly, “We don’t have to be.”

Summary
It happens like this: the middle of summer, hot wind whipping through her hair, and there’s a strange calm surrounding them as Lucas touches his hands to Maya’s face.
