Hyuntak mutters something filthy under his breath, but his head tips back against Seongje’s shoulder anyway, stubborn pout slackening just a little. He’s still tied, still annoyed, but the tips of his ears burn pink. And maybe just maybe there’s the smallest ghost of a smile hiding in his sulk.
It’s too easy for him to drift like this. Too adorable. Which makes it dangerous.
Seongje tells himself to behave. Really, he does. His hands twitch.
Hyuntak twitches in his sleep, a tiny shiver. Then, a whimper.
“You really shouldn’t be this pretty when you’re quiet,” Seongje mutters, his fingers slip under the fabric.
That’s when Hyuntak jolts awake with a gasp, every muscle going stiff.
“Wh-” His eyes fly wide, panic flashing. “What are you doing?”
“Checking for bugs,” Seongje answers instantly, deadpan.
“What-”
“You were squirming in your sleep. Suspicious.”
“I was sleeping! You were being a creep!”

What angers Hyuntak the most about the situation is that he didn't see it coming. Of course, after the Union disbands, another gang comes rushing in to fill the empty spot left by it. It's all power play, after all. Baekjin was the strongest, and that's why he stood over all those other little gangs.
