What if OB's telephone stopped ringing, giving Loki and Sylvie more time to talk? This is a canon divergence fic that explores an extended elevator scene that takes place right after Loki prunes his past self.
Even if Sylvie didn’t know it, he cared for her endlessly. He had changed not because of the TVA, but because of her. Loki had told her in that pie room that he had ridiculed his brother for turning so soft over that woman, Jane, but he soon learned that love did do strange things to his heart. It transformed him for the better, redeeming him from a dark place he never would have been able to escape without her. Sylvie was his hope, and he didn’t have a single clue of what he would do without her.

She was panting from the exertion of forcing open the inoperable elevator doors, her eyes bright even in the dim light. When she spotted him, she let out a little huff of relief.
“There you are!” she said breathlessly. She gave him a small smile.Loki experiences a significant moment twice—once, when it was his future, and again when it was his present.
