A very interesting read, the tension between the characters is palpable and they are written very realistically. The interludes are such a creative way to dwelve into the characters' thoughts and opinions. O.L.D for the old man Phillip Wittebane. the original show didn't really interest me (it did maybe but for a week at most), it had nothing special about It to me. didn't care much for lumity since it didn't have symbolism or any flaws (enemies doesnt count), just a harmless and healthy relationship which is fine, cute. their moments were adorable. I liked season 1 but I feel like season 2 and onward, It started to get really weird. The only thing that interested me was The Collector in the finale, wish we could've seen his character expanded. this rewrite(?) does Phillip and Luz's characters so much more beautifully and fascinatingly grotesque than the original show, It felt as If they had a doomed relation in it that could've been expanded but Its' just because of the circumstances that they hate each other, If they met on the same page, I am sure that Luz would understand him but It just had to be doomed. (here too but Its more emotional than physical) They were so similar and yet perfect for each other and yet the worst for each other, they embodied each other's worst fears and desires. The fact that they were born in extremely different time periods only cements this. I don't understand why he tried to manipulate her in the finale because he was going to die anyway, why grab onto her leg? she looked at him the same like Caleb did and she didn't speak, maybe she felt pity for him. If she didn't, she would've just walked away or use her powers on him so maybe she wanted to fix him, maybe she was thinking for a bit before deciding he was a lost cause. i also can't shake off how his monster and her titan form look so complementary to each other, as well as the constant sun/light/purple motif for Luz and golden/dark/blue motif for the old creep. It feels as if Amity was the second option for Luz because the universe realized that her and him can't ever truly be together, one has to submit to the others' will.
Perhaps one of the best ways I've seen their relationship being written, 9/10 and I can't wait for the next chapters.
I don't know if the author knows about "Happy Sugar Life" but this fanfic gives me that vibe so much skksskksks llrdjeieisjskme
