Summary
The rivalry between himself and Yoongi has been going on for longer than Seokjin can remember. The top salesman gets bragging rights, a trophy, cash from the loser, the pride of victory. There’s no reason for it beyond pushing themselves to do better, achieve more. Or perhaps it's something else, something that makes Seokjin feel a little warm when he sees Yoongi smile, makes him queasy when Yoongi dances with someone else at happy hour. Seokjin refuses to think about it, all that matters is proving he’s the best.

Yoongi gave him a look and then jerked his eyes away as if he’d touched an electrical current. “So you came over to distract me?” His voice was surprisingly even, unbothered despite the tiny tremble in his fingers as he turned the page.
He could parse this. He’d found step one of their routine. “Kinda,” Taehyung said, tone softening. It drew Yoongi’s gaze to him again, and he told him, to those weary eyes, “I came to get your KaTalk.”
Taehyung got his KaTalk. It was a silent exchange, Yoongi mumbling under his breath as he picked up his phone, opened the app, and slapped it in Taehyung’s open palm. “You talk to anyone about anything and I’ll stab you,” Yoongi said after Taehyung returned his phone to him and started a conversation thread with a hello ^^. “I’m so serious. This isn’t—it’s not anyone’s business.”
“No one’s business but ours,” Taehyung confirmed.

It’s been two weeks. Hoseok has managed to survive two weeks of Kim Namjoon’s progressively darkening thighs and his cheek craters and his swooshy hair and that stupid laugh he does that makes him sound like a bleating sheep.
Yoongi looks over his shoulder. Stares. Slowly draws his gaze back to Hoseok. “Are we discussing the same man who tried to brush his teeth with sunscreen yesterday?”
“Ew, he did that?”
“Your voice says that’s disgusting but your face says you’re enamored.”
Hoseok presses his palms against his eyes until he sees colored spots. “Make it stop, hyung.”
(Or: Hoseok works at a summer resort and Namjoon is the newest lifeguard. Chaos ensues.)
