"Okay!” You unfolded the crinkled map across your knees, flattening it with a decisive hand. “Says here there should be a generator installed riiiight around… There!” You jabbed a finger toward the windshield, zeroing in on a slanted, weather-beaten unit planted along the dirt road.
Your head swiveled as you watched the generator fly by, air whooshing past the window as the truck jolted over some rocks. Your head whipped towards your colleague, a bewildered expression on your face. “Sam? What are you doing? We need to stop and recharge!”
He didn’t even glance your way. “Nah. We’ll make it.”

I wanted to switch up some cliches so now this time YOU, the reader, are the anxious paranoid one who has just recently moved to Paradise. You immediately notice the entire town is fucking insane, so when you meet the dude, you quickly form a sort of obsessive curiosity with him because he is different. Doesn't take much for him to return the sentiment.
The relationship shared is sort of odd, you become sort of quick friends and it is mostly lustful at the beginning. There isn't that much explicit romance, but who's to say feelings won't develop sometime later down the line? But if you came for fluff, it's not here.
The Dude here is the pacifist version because I think he is interesting and funny.
