"She knows that if anyone else witnessed this it would seem like he was using her–-using her just like she told him to–-but that isn’t it at all. He would never use her. She just allows him to be every version of himself, and loves every version of him. She gives him permission to feel the emotions he won't let himself feel in front of others, and never judges him, just as he does for her in return. She trusts him to take whatever he needs from her without crossing the lines they’ve discussed, so she can bring him back to himself. This is unconditional love, built on so many years of understanding and deep trust in each other."
Or, Aang has a rough day at work as the Avatar. Katara finds a way to bring him out of his anger.
