Summary
Set after fall of Casita but before Mirabel is found. Isabela worries for her sister. Luisa worries about everyone but herself. This will either end very badly, or very well. Somehow, it's both.
Or
The movie does not have NEARLY enough Luisa and Isabela interactions so I might as well do it myself.

Summary
Casita had fallen, the Candle was extinguished, the Miracle broken, and their Gifts were gone - seemingly for good. Luisa had failed to prevent any of this, had failed in her sole purpose of protecting her home and family. As the Madrigals rebuild their house, Luisa finds she must learn who she is in the wake of so many changes. Can she put together the broken pieces of her identity?
Luckily, her family isn't going to let her try to shoulder that burden alone.
Work-in-progress, will update tags as I go. Related to the other stories in the series, but none of them are required reading for any other. They're just all sharing my particular interpretations of the Madrigals.

Summary
During the rebuilding of Casita, an Un-Gifted Luisa injures herself while carrying a stone. In her already-shaky emotional state, she has a panic attack. Tio Bruno helps her out.
This was a discarded draft chapter from another work, so some of the lead-in context is missing, but folks might enjoy this bit of angst on its own.

Summary
Luisa’s still tense. She’s a terrible liar; it’s a little sweet. “So what are you actually doing?” Isa asks, and her sister sighs.
“You can’t tell anyone.”
“I promise.”
Biting her lip, Luisa sinks onto the cushioned bench, and Isabela settles next to her. “I’m watching for Dolores. She snuck out,” she whispers.
Isabela, Dolores, and Luisa have a late-night chat. Topics include: what Dolores and Mariano are getting up to, how glad Isa is that she's NOT getting up to things with Mariano, Luisa putting her foot in her mouth, and all of them still slowly uncurling from the weight of expectations.
