Summary
“I’m so stupid,” he whispers to himself, “so stupid.”
His chest heaves, there’s tears welling up in his eyes, and it feels like there’s smoke climbing down his throat and stinging his eyes. Steve blinks.
There is, actually. He can see a puff travel past his face, illuminated against the dark by the streetlight a few meters away on the sidewalk. Someone clears their throat next to him.
“Sorry, man, I didn’t mean to eavesdrop. You kinda just… Sat down.”Or; Steve meets Eddie in the backyard of Tina's party, five minutes post Nancy telling him she doesn't love him. Eddie is, subsequently, dragged into the mess of the Upside Down along with Steve.
