    Summary

Children left bleeding by the hands that should’ve protected us—seems like we had more in common than I thought, Vivian.

In the end, we were both shaped by men who called themselves fathers… and left us to carry the ruin.

5 times Hugo stood by Vivian like a family should, and 1 time Vivian refused to let him stand alone.

    Summary

Corin tries her very best not to remember what she saw that fateful day all those weeks ago. Whenever she feels her mind wandering off in that general direction, she imagines herself sweeping the writhing mass of the memory under a rug, stomping on it with both feet, and cutting up the rug and the floor beneath it with a chainsaw. The visualization exercise buys her precious moments of peace and serenity and she is able to go about her day.

But ever since the Incident, she’s had questions.

    corin connect some dots.

    Summary

Hugo’s resentment at Lycaon’s decision to leave Mockingbird, his hatred towards his father, the fear as he sat at Lycaon’s side, waiting – for either help to come, or for Lycaon’s heartbeat to fade away – all of that has been smothered by sheer exhaustion, leaving Hugo numb and empty.

Without his emotions getting in the way, Hugo’s thoughts are startlingly clear.

Betrayals and abandonment, secrets and broken promises – none of those matter. All that matters is Lycaon, and who he is to Hugo.

His dearest partner, now turned his greatest traitor.

    And yet—

    —still his, always.

(Their confrontation after the failed assasination attempt on the Ravenlock family head is not the last time Hugo sees Lycaon; before they go their separate ways, Hugo makes several arrangements that, years later, will influence his reunion with Lycaon and set the stage for future collaborations.

Missing scenes from Hugo and Lycaon's past and present, on their separation and eventual reconciliation. Contains major spoilers for Bury Your Tears With The Past Part A and B).
