“So, what’s the deal then?” Naruto said. “What’s between us?” He still hadn’t looked back. Sasuke sighed as his heel returned to the hospital floor. He lifted his head to stare at the ceiling. His head hurt. He saw so much of Naruto in him that it was hard to believe he lost his memory, but when Naruto said this he was reminded again that those blue eyes are not the ones he knows. There is a sadness to him, a distance to his smile now. He’s unfamiliar, like a cheap imitation. A shadow clone.
OR
After an ambush on a disastrous mission, Naruto appears to have lost his memory, remembering very few events of the past. Sasuke has to make a choice and learn how to navigate his relationship with Naruto again. How do you treat the person who held the world for you when they don't even remember your name?

“Lily,” Hayden says automatically. “You know about Lily?”
Something flickers across Rozanov’s face. His jaw twitches. “Yes, I know about Lily.” He raises his eyebrows.
Hayden feels like a complete asshole, all of a sudden. There’s just been too much going on to even think about Shane’s mystery girlfriend. “Shit, I should probably, like, call her, or something? I don’t know this girl at all, but Shane’s been obsessed with her for years. If she was watching the game, she would have seen him get hurt.”
“You don’t need to call her,” Rozanov says, and when Hayden glances at him, he still looks fucking miserable but now he’s rolling his eyes, a much more familiar expression of disdain on his face. “She’s sitting right here.”
