Summary
The General pops out of the tent, scowling, and hurls a blanket- which Cody recognizes as one from the man's nest- sending a cloud of dust into the air when it lands. Skywalker winces, rubbing the back of his neck.
Cody decides, abruptly, that he is too tired for this and will be spending the night in the medical tent.
He is not quiet enough, obviously, because the General calls out, “Ah, Commander, you’re back! Apologies for all this,” he pauses to send another glare at his former Padawan, “I’ll be finished ridding the tent of foreign stench in a second, and the space will be all yours.”
It is then that Cody realizes his entire life is a fucking joke.
(or, Cody has never given much thought to things such as nesting and courting. This is, as it turns out, a mistake.)

“They’re… they’re Force sensitive,” He whispers, nearly inaudible, his hands shaking.
The baby’s face is scrunched up in pain, and their breathing is getting uneven. They’re clearly sick, and getting weaker. Cody feels a little nauseous trying to imagine how long they’d been out here alone.
“Cody,” Obi-Wan says, his face washed with moonlight, “We have to take them with us. We can’t leave them.” It’s not a question, but he’s still asking permission in some sort of way. Cody doesn’t hesitate to nod.
