    “You know that song, that’s like ‘you’ve got a fast car, I want a ticket to anywhere, maybe we can make a deal?” Jackie says quietly when Nat returns to the porch.
    “You mean the song called: Fast Car?” Nat follows her gaze to the truck. The last piece of her old man, and the only one really worth keeping.
    She returns to look at Jackie, noticing the gym bag stuffed with clothes and cash.
    “You’re not serious,” Nat scoffs with a laugh.
    “Look, I don’t know about you, but I’m not ready to throw in the towel and die in fucking Wiskayok, New Jersey.”

    Ever since their fateful crash in 1996, the Yellowjackets tragedy has captured public fascination like nothing else before or since. As their disappearance and eventual recovery coincided with the growth of the modern internet, an online fandom has always existed, whether in the form of newsgroups, blogs, forums, subreddits, or hashtags. Compiling it all would be impossible, and much of it has been lost to time (particularly since the death of Geocities), but several cataloguing attempts have been made. This is one of them.

    (Or: a look at the in-universe fandom surrounding the crash, its victims, and its survivors. Forum fic, Reddit fic, Discord fic, Tumblr fic, etc.)
