Summary
If he had known– if only he had taken a few minutes to sit, to really think, about something more than translations and the Hermes Society and Professor Lovell – then maybe, truly, he might’ve seen the ways Ramy looked at him. He remembered a time where the tapestry of his life was not unbound or frayed at the edges, but intact, whole, threaded with the love he felt for Mrs. Piper’s chicken and leek pies, sun-filled days on an Oxford green, and his Babel cohort. It was a time that felt so recent, he almost felt the warmth of such an embrace around him, what he once thought as an impenetrable blanket, until, suddenly, it was ripped from him.

Summary
At the sight of Ramy falling, the bang of Letty’s gun ringing in his ears, Robin could only think of that first week they had spent together in Oxford.

Summary
Robin struggles to translate ancient love poems -- there is an indescribable feeling that he can't seem to capture into words.
Ramy helps him see the face of God.
In such a stark quietness, he looks to the one person in the room he is most comfortable with, finding deep, brown eyes staring back at him. One second turning into two, and then forever, and maybe, Robin wonders, this is what the poets wrote about. This is the feeling he can’t quite capture into words, the reason why his love poem translations always seem to be lackluster and dull.
