Ray's focus rested solely on the runner just a few spots in front of her. She knew that it was dangerous to give too much attention to just one opponent. Others could easily sweep in punish her for it, but she didn't care too much about that possibility at that moment.
'Faster than Ray', what kind of name was even that? It felt like some kind of bad joke by the Three Goddesses at her expense. Well, Ray would win this race, no matter what. She didn't make it this far to have her victory snatched away, especially not by someone like that.
They were on the cusp of the corner. Ray steadied herself, adjusting her form to the bend of the track. 'Let's see who the faster one really is,' she thought to herself.
In the game there exist two peculiar NPC runners: "Ray" and "Faster than Ray". Let us follow their, much to the chagrin of one of them, often intertwined racing careers.
