Summary
John’s mother had breast cancer. She battled for two years before losing her fight. With his siblings in University, unable to care for him, he entered the care of his father. Johnny had to squeeze himself between the few things his father cared about: the British Army, Football, booze, and women. Manchester was nothing like Glasgow—his father refused to help with the move. One night, his dad had a few of his Army friends over for drinks. This was the night Johnny met Simon Riley. He would become the closest thing to a parent John had left. He showed up to footie games, helped with homework, gave advice on dating and friendship. But things took a turn when Johnny started to take dating seriously. How could he be a good partner with no experience? How could he get good at sex while still a virgin? He went to Simon with his concerns—he suggested that he take Johnny out on dates to show him how a proper partner acts, no kissing or touching beyond what’s appropriate. Johnny agreed. It went well for a while, but slowly John started to wish he and Simon could really be together. Little did he know, Simon planned for that the whole time.
