Summary
When Eloise announces she wants to move again, it coincides with Colin's desire to purchase a London flat. It makes sense for them to move in with him financially, but Eloise takes some convincing and as Colin and Penelope work together to persuade her, they fall back into a closer friendship. He shook his head and groaned. The last thing he needed was to think about his ex with another man, being all happy and lovey dovey and downright disgustingly in love.
Because that used to be them.
For a year and a half, it was them. They were so, so, very disgustingly in love as pointed out multiple times by his siblings any chance they got. Not that Colin had ever minded. He was pleased to show off how much he loved her, cherished her. That was until it all ended one night with four words that still haunted him in his nightmares.
“We want different things.”
Or Colin and Penelope break up because of a misunderstanding and they try to deal with the aftermath.

Perhaps, he decides, this is a dream, a byproduct of his subconsciousness, of intrusive, worrying thoughts, of swirling memories of the one person whose been stuck in his head for the past fortnight (or okay, even longer than that) because lying next to him in bed, blue eyes bright, inviting smile on her face is Penelope.
Plot twist: it's definitely not a dream.

He nearly choked on his beer when he noticed that Alfred was wearing wire rimmed glasses too. The lenses were smaller than the ones Colin sported but the idea was the same, Benedict surmised. He pushed them up the bridge of his nose as he explained something to Phillip, the latter nodding along to whatever the taller blonde was saying rather enthusiastically.
His mouth dropped open as he put two and two together. He had only started wearing those eyeglasses after Penelope introduced Alfred, hadn’t he?
Or the one where Colin starts to dress and act like his good friend Penelope's newest boyfriend.
