Summary
A week ago, you were completely content with spending your life alone never knowing how it feels to love someone, but now it’s different. Now you won’t be alone. The general will be there by your side resenting you, maybe even hating you. How could he not you thought, he didn’t want to get married, he’s only doing it as a favor to your father. How could he then not resent you completely and for the rest of his life. How can you not resent him for putting you in this situation? But you don’t resent him you realize. You’re grateful for him, but you also pity him. The same faith waits for both of you. A life without love.
