    “Of course, nobody would expect you to fall over at my feet, especially in light of my unforgivably rude comments last Season.” Colin said, all reason and calm as he collected his hat from a footman, “And what would be the entertainment in that? You must be permitted to test my mettle as a suitor. Indeed I am beginning to look forward to the chase.”

    “There will be no entertainment! No chase!” Penelope protested, panic steadily rising within her. “Colin-”

    “Good day, Miss Penelope.” Colin smiled, familiar laughter and devilry dancing on his handsome face. She watched in mute outrage as he tipped his hat to her and strolled out her front door.

    After his careless words ruined Penelope's prospects on the marriage mart, Colin is determined to do everything he can to restore her reputation and to find her a good match, even if it means pretending to court his best friend.

    However, outside forces with a grudge against the Bridgertons inadvertently transforms a wallflower into the most coveted prize of the London Season of 1815.
