The high disciple freezes in their place before snapping back. They spin around and lower their head in greeting.
“Yes, teacher.” They don’t look up. They don’t have permission to. “I have done my duty.”
“Very good,” Amarah intones. He turns to Azure, letting out a curious sound in acknowledgement. “Oh? Who may this be?”
The fire pops loudly, showering sparks into the air. The chanting falters as the eyes are on the trio.
“An outsider, teacher. He assisted me in gathering the firewood when I was delayed in the forest,” they say, relaxing their body to avoid suspicion. “He said he was interested in Spawnism.”
Azure’s eyes widen slightly as they kick at the cultist’s leg. He clearly does not agree to it, but thankfully for the two of them, Amarah does not catch on.
