Summary
"Instead, Deborah texts Ava: “Do something stupider than you already have, and there’ll be no coming back from it.” It feels too much like admitting she needs the girl, like carving her heart out and laying it on a platter with “I love you” painted in her still-hot blood. She turns her phone off, then. The last thing she needs is Ava tracking her location and finding out exactly how far Deborah is willing to go to keep her."
Or, a much messier take on where the show *could* have gone in 4.09 (that still gets our girls to a happy ending)

Summary
“'Yeah, we just moved in together.'
Ava describes the house with more adjectives and features, as if vaulted ceilings and natural light will make up for nearly a year apart with no contact from Deborah."
Or: Picking up in Season 3, what if Ava and Deborah were forced to face the truth when they ran into one another again?

Summary
“So,” Deborah began when the silence had stretched out for too long. “One of our mutual friends thinks that they might feel something towards the same gender. Well, not the same gender as a whole, but rather one specific person who just happens to be the same gender.” Out of nowhere, the woman said.
“Thisisn’tsomestrangeattempttocomeout?” Ava asked breathlessly.
“No.” Deborah said, folding her arms to emphasise her statement.
“Okay, at least can I ask who it is? I mean, my advice will be more appropriate if I know who I’m giving it to.” Deborah should have been expecting this question and been prepared for it. Luckily, an old friend of hers came to her rescue, and she just happened to be leading two wet dogs into the house. It was a good thing Ava had her back to the house and couldn’t see what Deborah saw in her peripheral vision.
“It’s Josefina.”
OR
Deborah feels something. She's been feeling this for a while, but only now has she found the strength to open up about it. She's not a fan of therapists, so she decides to go to another "specialist" on this stuff.
Ava is the "specialist".
