Summary
In the deep blue waters of the open sea, beyond the safety of the shore and beneath a star-filled sky, the Sirens of Skaro reside. They sing their deadly songs and lure sailors into storms, and they do not feel and they do not regret and they certainly, absolutely, positively never rescue any of them.
But Clara Oswald, well...the little siren has never been one to follow the rules. So when she sees a man fall from his star-lit ship in a storm, she saves him.
She’s just faced with three problems. The first is she can’t speak, lest her deadly siren song slip out to harm him, and the second is she needs to figure out how to help him (and just maybe, possibly, hopefully herself) escape the deadly Dalek Cove without letting him know that she’s actually a siren herself.
And the third problem?
The third problem is that she just might be falling in love with him.

Which is a bit of a problem, considering he and Clara are currently stuck in a sub, miles and miles down under the sea.
(A follow up to the Series 7 episode, Cold War, which ends with the Doctor and Clara being trapped on a submarine until they reach the TARDIS at the South Pole.)

So the Doctor doesn’t, and the words he never says get buried like a seed deep down in his chest, and they blossom there, blooming against his ribcage like roses, their thorns piercing his skin, and it hurts and it hurts and it hurts.
Which is why, in all those billions of years he’s trapped in his confession dial, sometimes, (when the stars change or when her painted portrait weathers yet again with age or he finds himself drowning with grief and rage), he’ll try to say those unsaid words to the Clara in the TARDIS in his mind.

But what the thieves don’t know yet is that if they want to get to Bruce Wayne, they’ll have to go through Selina Kyle first.
Because this is what Selina does - what she’s always done since she was a kid - she protects Bruce. Even when he doesn’t know it.
So Selina keeps robbers at bay and stands guard over the manor, as watchful as one of the gargoyles Bruce has on his gate, and since he’s busy dealing with crimes that are actually being committed rather than with crimes that have already been stopped, she never expects Bruce to find out about what she’s doing.
But then he does.
