Will blinked at him. “What?”
“I’ll go with you. I'll be your date.” The words came out before Mike had fully thought them through, but once he said them, he committed. “As friends, you know. I’m sure it’ll be just as fun.”

Summary
When Will gave up on his search and admitted to Mike that he was out of canvases and really, desperately in the mood to paint, the last thing he expected was for Mike to offer up his skin.
That was weird, right?
Or is he just the one making it weird?
Is it weird to want to kiss your best friend?
…Hypothetically?

After stumbling his way through an uncomfortable attempt at disagreeing, Mike was determined in his offer and Will unfortunately had no choice but to agree.
He should’ve known that once Mike is set on an idea, he’ll do anything to make sure he gets his way.

Will paints on Mike’s back and has trouble containing himself. Mike is similarly a mess.

Mike would be fine with staying just as they are.
Well, not really. It would eat him alive, there’s no doubt about it. Scoop him hollow and drown him in the possibility of something he should have never even thought about in the middle of the night with his ceiling and the flickering streetlamps outside of the window as his only witnesses. Because he’d doomed himself from the moment the thought seeped through the cracks of his forcefully built normalcy, warm, syrupy, and so, so sweet. Irresistibly so. But perhaps he could find it in himself to tolerate that kind of agony if it means keeping Will by his side. Maybe if he sees Will holding hands with some faceless boy, he could find it in himself to be happy his best friend has found someone to love him, though not more than Mike always has. Someone who wants him a normal amount, someone who hasn’t needed him since before ever even knowing the word for it. Someone who wouldn’t absolutely crush him under the weight of his emotion. Someone nice.
Someone not Mike.
But god, all he wants is for it to be him.

Summary
The terrible, awful thing about finally getting what he wanted — namely, Mike — is that now he wants more, the selfish creature that he is. When he was younger, he’d been able to convince himself that kissing Mike, just once, would be enough to last him a lifetime. Foolishly, he’d thought that he could relish that single kiss and live a peaceful life, one where Mike was still his friend and nothing changed but his feelings would dissipate.
Instead, they grew; they’re still growing, Will fears, growing bigger and bigger each time Mike and him get together, because every sound Mike makes when Will kisses him makes Will want to find ten more little gasps and whines and groans, and each time Mike twists their fingers together and pants against his skin Will thinks about how much better it is than the time before.
will and mike are - something, and will's not entirely sure what. whatever they are, he wants more, but he's not sure if he can have it.

“Love, your secret admirer…” Mike trails off as he finishes reading the letter clutched tightly in his hands.
“Woah, love?” Dustin comments, leaning over. “This person must have it bad for you, Mike.”
“Yeah,” Max snorts, “which is insane because who’s crazy enough to be in love with Mike?”
Mike moves to swat her on the shoulder, but Will beats him to it.
Mike Wheeler’s disdain for Valentine’s day is only intensified when the party is sent on a wild goose chase to find the identity of his unexpected secret admirer with just a week before the day.
On an unrelated note, Will’s acting extra friendly lately. If Mike didn’t know better, he’d think he’s been flirting with him.
