Summary
“Have you ever been in love?” The question leaves Koutarou’s lips uncharacteristically quiet, a tentative question, a shift he knows Akaashi will pick up on.
As if on cue, Akaashi looks over at him. “Once.”
Koutarou leans closer, desperate to hear the answer when he asks, “How did it end?”
Akaashi’s eyes, much like the ocean before them, swim with so much care and unspoken emotion, holding Koutarou’s like a challenge. There’s a beat, and then another.
“It hasn’t,” he says simply.

Summary
The night is clear, allowing a spatter of stars to be visible across the darkened sky. They’re lying in Bokuto’s bed, wrapped in each other, encased in the stillness of the night; whispered words, light brushes and lingering touches. Their eyes meet; a collision of captivating gold and alluring blue-green. Fire and ice. Day and night. Sun and moon.
Opposites. The word grips Akaashi’s mind.

Summary
“That boy,” she says after a pause, her voice becoming surer, and it was easy for Bokuto to imagine the firm, intelligent set of her jaw. “Your Akaashi. He moves you, doesn’t he?”
His Akaashi. And it’s as if there is a creature in Bokuto’s ribcage, winged and wild, and he can feel it stretch and jolt and careen as he realizes —
“Yeah,” he says, his hands shaking. “Yeah, he does.”
In which Akaashi and Bokuto grow up and grow into love, and they learn how lovingly the earth provides. -

Summary
It’s only the first day without him and already Bokuto is painfully aware of the Akaashi shaped void in his life. He wasn’t there to listen to Bokuto ramble about last night’s Black Jackals game during lunch, nor at practice, and now Bokuto has to walk home by himself.
It’s the worst thing that has ever happened to him. Ever.
Or; Akaashi goes on a school trip and Bokuto contemplates the absence of his north star.
