After the events of Thanks to Them, Vee stays behind in the Human Realm to keep up appearances. Yeah, that's definitely the reason. In any case, Vee wants to befriend her friends from camp all over again, just in her new form. I mean, she can't masquerade as Luz forever, right? And she still wants to keep her friends. This is the best way. It's not as if she can tell them anyway.
Vee keeps up appearances and gets into some shenanigans while she's at it.
