She tilts her chin toward him, senses the story there; refrains from touching him though she wants to, ranger's instincts stilling her hands. "Is it?"
He pauses. "It is." Furrows his brow, as if that explanation doesn't quite fit the bill of what he'd meant. "Or rather... it would be. I fear the short answer is much less interesting, but the long one requires a bit of... background."
Her cheek snuggles further into the pillow. The blankets are pulled up to her chin, shrouding them both in what feels like a moment suspended. Her sleep-soft eyes seek his, ever curious.
"Tell me."
