Wonwoo took out a single glittery green pen, the same kind Mingyu had bought in purple, and put them amongst the line of pens on their joined table

It was just a single line, but Mingyu had taken a second too long just to process the surge of emotions he was feeling.
He had never seen anything remotely new on Wonwoo for as long as he had known the boy, except for his uniform on that first day of class. Mrs Yoon still paid for his lunch, and sometimes Mingyu wondered just how desperately Wonwoo needed it that he had feigned ignorance this whole time, never even questioning the free meals.
For someone Mingyu had never seen with a single cent in possession, Wonwoo had bought a stupid glittery pen for them to use together.
And so Mingyu’s resolve to stop trying to befriend Wonwoo crumbled like a house of cards. Even if all they did was share pens and sticky notes, Mingyu swore to make school a little bit better for Wonwoo.
