    Dazai did not want to hold Chuuya’s hand. The only reason he was thinking about it was experimental curiosity about the otherworldly thing possessing the hatrack.
    He didn’t want it, so it would be fine. Dazai only lost things that he wanted, so as long as he didn’t want it, he couldn’t lose anything.

    (Alternatively: after they hold hands to defeat Randou, Dazai has a lot of yearning, and he deals with his emotions in a characteristically avoidant manner. By indulging himself whenever Chuuya is knocked out post-Corruption.)
