After he’s retired, Luca drops off the face of the (social media) earth for a bit. And then he posts a dump with the simplest caption “living my best life, thanks for the well wishes”. A photo him on a boat, topless, from behind. A shot from someone who’s clearly lying in his lap, a hint of a 5 o’clock shadow is visible on his jaw. A tiny vial of T in the palm of his hand. Narla, all four legs up in the air and fast asleep. Luca, sweaty and smiling big in an old Lionesses training shirt that doesn't quite fit around the shoulders and arms any more, mud and grass stains all up his side after a rec league match. A mess of blonde hair tucked against his shoulder, above bruised tissue and a compression bandage. Him, in swimming trunks taking a nap by the side of the pool. A casual breakfast table - two plates, two mugs, a pair of hands loosely tangled up with one of Luca’s, offset by the dark tablecloth.
