    Summary

Ratio pushes a heavy sigh again, keeping his nose close to his strained mating gland and murmuring vaguely. "Don't you start."

Ah, Aventurine hasn't even started yet. A delicate small smile appears on his face in the reflection, and they both know his next words won't do any good. "Really? How odd. And here I thought you'd notice that scent for sure—after all, I spent quite a long time in the shower thinking about today's meeting."

And if Aventurine hadn't let out a sigh just out of spite when the muscular arm wrapped around his waist in a bruising grip, then the rough feeling of a hand on his neck pressing his marked gland into submission made his knees shake. He meets a furious stare in the reflection. "Don't. You. Start."

Aventurine only gives back a cocky smirk before things start to fall apart.

Sometimes provoking is the best cure, or Aventurine of Stratagems is showing a method how to deal with an (very principal) alpha in rut.

    Summary

Aventurine hums. “Calling you 'detective' seems a little too plain. How about…”

The phantom thief chuckles under his breath before slowly holding one hand out. Against Veritas's better judgment, he puts his hand in his. Gloved fingers clasp around him gently, giving him ample time and opportunity to pull back.

He doesn’t. Instead, he thinks about how the fabric is so thin that he can feel a bit of warmth through them. Instead, he thinks about how those fingers are a little smaller than his, slender with a delicate touch. Instead, he thinks about the way Aventurine lifts his hand up to his face and presses it to his mask. Veritas’s knuckles brush over right where his lips would’ve been.

    “My darling detective...”

Or: Detective Veritas Ratio is assigned to Phantom Thief Aventurine's case. It turns out he has a penchant for stealing more than just expensive goods.

And he fell for a telephone scam.

After Dr Ratio’s reputation is tarnished by falling for a scam, the IPC sends him for a mandatory fraud prevention seminar. However, he doesn’t expect the instructor to be Aventurine, a thief who stole his heart a year ago.

    Summary

When Aventurine enters the hotel room, he nearly screams.

There is a bed right in front of him.

One large bed, that's big enough for two people.

It is the only bed in the entire suite.

Even worse, Ratio doesn’t comment on it at all.

    Summary

Aventurine rises to the bait despite the obvious trap she’s laying. “Hmmm, a chance to pester the good doctor? Don’t mind if I do. Anything you want me to dig for? You know, since you’re sending me over to him and all that.”

Topaz flusters. Too predictable. “That’s not what this is!”

“Relax,” Aventurine purrs. “Just tell me. I’ll ask him.”

“Will you be subtle?” Topaz mumbles, hesitant.

    “As a sledgehammer.”

    “Aventurine!”

In which each person is born with a red string attached to their left pinky. Aventurine's has frayed over the years due to all the hardships he has faced. After meeting Ratio, it begins to heal. It can't be a coincidence, can it?
