It’s not a secret that Alastor is utterly enthralled by the King at this point, at least not in the safety of his head.
But that’s not what’s making his blood run hotter than hellfire; it’s because they’re doing this here.
It shouldn’t be a surprise, considering half of their encounters have come with an element of risk, but he’d always chalked that part up to a matter of convenience. But now, deep down, Alastor knows he wants this to continue because of where they are, not in spite of it. There’s a part of him that wants to chase the thrill, a part that’s even more aroused knowing this is absolutely not where he should be feeling like this.

Summary
Undermere is the perfect place for a man looking to leave his past behind. The people are unfriendly, the constant rain discourages visitors and the ever-present mist shrouds everything in secrecy. But before Lucifer can fully settle into his much-anticipated isolation, he comes up against a serious problem: an obnoxious postman who seems to take his reticence as a personal challenge.
An overly familiar mailman quickly becomes the least of his problems. Undermere has a history with horticulturists and death, and Lucifer's familiarity with plants and potions makes him suspect in the eyes of his neighbours--and the law. Then there is the difficulty of rekindling a relationship with his daughter while keeping his past at bay—a task that becomes more difficult as his relationship with his mailman goes far beyond the typical bond between a gentleman and his mail carrier. But then nothing in Lucifer's life has ever gone to plan. Why should retirement be any different?

Summary
