More of a fill-in-the-blanks.
The show has such limited content on their relationship despite the teasing in the press, and in the final episode of P3 and the first episode of P4. From then on, next to none of their interactions are threaded into the narrative. I think a touch here and there would have made all the difference. I wanted to maintain tone and style and the limits of production because I do think it was possible for the show to afford them three to five lines or a thirty-second scene to build context and shape and texture to their romance. Like they did for all other canon romances.
But then, of course, it got out of hand.
