When asked how he hadn’t noticed, Senku was quick to blame being distracted by getting to the moon and then coming back with an alien. And while that certainly played a huge part in his obliviousness, he also acknowledged that his mate had always had odd little habits that Senku sort of hand waved away as Gen being Gen.
