Oikawa asks, taunting the red head.
“How long has it been, Toshi? Eight months? I love him more and more each day”
Tendou professes as he squeezes Ushijima’s shoulders and locks eyes with Oikawa again.
Tendou loves joking around with his opponents before a volleyball match but-
“Tendou, I am so sorry.”
Ushijima simply says, and he sounds like he really means it.
Tendou is so confused. Why was Ushijima apologizing to him?
“I had no idea that the nature of our relationship was that of boyfriends and not best friends. I shall do my best to make the necessary adjustments to my behavior.”
Wait. Did Ushijima not know he was joking to Oikawa about them being boyfriends?

TLDR: Tendou makes a joke to Oikawa that he and Ushijima are dating and Ushijima actually thinks he is serious about it. This makes Ushijima realise a thing or two about their relationship and the adjustments he might want to make to said relationship.

But Kyoutani’s already turning away from him, readjusting his backpack with a rough jerk. “Stop playing with me, Yahaba.”
Yahaba wants to scream at him, that he’s wrong, and the last thing he wants to do is play around, but the words climb up his throat and seize there, refusing to come out.

“Wow, who knew Mad Dog-chan was such a flirt?” Oikawa chimed in from behind Yahaba, who had obviously watched this interaction go down.
“You’re one to talk Oikawa.” Iwaizumi said while giving Oikawa a smack on the back of the head.
“Guys! Iwa-chan is bullying me again!” Oikawa announced and the entire gym groaned in exasperated unison.

And that’s the way it’s been for, well, so long that Morisuke’s taken it as a given, as something that is there and should be there and always will be there.
But, well. Lately, things have changed. Ever since stupid freaking Haiba Lev joined the team, all of the sudden Morisuke’s the one on the receiving end of knowing smirks and dramatic drapings and he’s the one doing the pushing and awkward blushing, though, his awkward blushing involves a lot less awkwardness and a lot more angry yelling. But it is so not fair.
