Sam's face contorted in annoyance as he tugged Dean's laundry out of the washing machine. He always had this habit of leaving it in, every single time without fail. He swore he'd actually lose it the next time he was stuck emptying out the machine after Dean used it.

They were supposed to be enjoying their anniversary dinner- a night with no cases, no phones, nothing but each other. It was a rarity, given their life, but Rowena didn't think it was all that selfish to ask for one night to themselves.
But earlier in the day, Claire's cell signal had suddenly disappeared, and then a cryptic voicemail had been left on Dean's cellphone a short time later. They'd thrown themselves into trying to find the young blonde hunter, Rowena attempting locator spell after locator spell while Sam hacked into Claire's phone remotely to attempt to ping it. Castiel and Dean were snappish with each other, their worry for Claire leaving them on a knife's edge when it came to patience, and Jack and Mary had simply done whatever anyone asked of them, wanting to be useful.
By late afternoon, they've made some headway on narrowing in on Claire's location, but there's no way they'll have her back safe by their six o'clock reservation, so Rowena quietly steps away to call the restaurant and cancel. Once she finishes on the phone she slips it into her pocket and presses her face into her hands, taking a moment to collect herself and bury her disappointment before she went back to the library.
