Summary
For one hundred years, residents of the town had been terrified of the worn-down castle upon the hills. They told legends of a vicious creature living there — a beast that fed on blood and would stop at nothing to have its fill. Ariake, a traveller from far away, arrived at the castle one stormy evening after a long journey, having never known of its infamy. He was greeted not by a beast, but by a beautiful yet cold proprietor, who led a lonely life between those ornate stone walls, and who only allowed him to stay if he obeyed one single rule: he must not step foot out of his room at night, no matter what.

However, Lee Sookyung was the first person to know this: her son is more terrible to himself than the world has been. His self-administered punishments started young, by being the one to grab the knife instead of her.
“Sure, maybe I don’t.” Lee Sookyung nods, “My point still stands—so what if you’ve been a bit terrible? You’ve also been good too.”
Unfortunately, Kim Dokja never does things the easy way. It’s a lot easier to remember things by learning through pain.
