Summary
Louis de Pointe du Lac tells his tale to the young reporter. Early in that fateful night in which Claudia drives her knife into the heart of her maker, before he could ever conceive of such a plan, he invites his dear Louis with him to visit his musician friend. Lestat has always been quite persuasive.
OR: An alternative scenario to Lestat's "Read your damn poems, then! Rot!" in which he is more persistent in requesting Louis' accompaniment. A dance is initiated, as well as an epiphany. Though, as it seems, the latter has come too late.
