He glared, crouching down beside the villain. He took out his phone and opened the camera: A photo of his real face leaked, blasted across every news channel, recognizable by his own family and friends… Perhaps he didn’t even have to die. This alone would destroy everything he ever had.
“No more hiding,” The blonde hero muttered, his fingers trembling when he reached for the purple and black colored diamond-checkered mask.
The mask fell off as Ares pulled on the ear loop of the mask. It revealed familiar features that he was used to seeing everyday. He gasped lightly, a name slipping through his lips.
“…Rui?”
His phone dropped onto the ground.

Because as much as he would hate to admit, he was weak.
And his feelings for Tsukasa made him even weaker.
The idol was speaking, but he could hear nothing but his sobs. All he knew were the apologies in his head; so much that he could’ve said some out loud.
He didn’t push him away. His tone was comforting. Eventually, Rui had managed to calm down, sobs turning into sniffles. There, Tsukasa had wiped off his final tears and let out a smile for him - a smile so warm it hurt - and whispered something reassuring, to which the bodyguard reluctantly nodded.

Phainon flung a soaked hoodie out of the doorway. “I think the ceiling just gave me a baptism.”
