Kiara's laughter is like music to his ears. "And? Did I pass the test?"
His eyes rake over her, his expression appreciative. It almost feels as if he’s undressing her with his eye.
"You exceeded expectations." He says after a few beats.
Her voice drops to a whisper. "I think I like being the prize."
Rafe leans closer, his warm breath tickling her ear. "I think I like being the winner."

He exhales the smoke in his lungs, “So you’d rather run away and hide?”
“Isn’t that exactly what you’re doing as well?”
