“Did you see Colin in New York?!” Hyacinth asked excitedly. At 14 years old, she hardly remembered a time where Colin had lived close by. She never had a chance to see him more than a few days a year. Naturally, she was curious about him and eager for any information about him.
“Duh, we stayed with him,” Eloise whined in response, slipping onto the stool in front of her and into her natural persona of annoyed older sister.
Hyacinth spun around to rummage for more serving dishes. “We basically didn’t see him for the first few days because he was working a lot but then he came out dancing with us on the weekend and then he wouldn’t leave us alone for the rest of the trip,” Eloise laughed. “We even tried to—”

Summary

The guest room in Aubrey Hall was familiar to Penelope at this point. When she was younger, she’d share with Eloise every time they visited. She was always her plus one. After they graduated secondary school, Violet made a big deal about her having her own room for their annual summer visits and any other holidays Penelope joined for.
Moving around the room unpacking her items with a familiar cadence, she paused when she reached her toiletry bag. The box of condoms she’d hastily stashed in there stared back at her. Why had she packed them? This was absurd. She swore to herself she wouldn’t need them. That it was a family holiday and she was going to behave herself, not rouse suspicion.

Summary
Colin Bridgerton was a rising British tennis star, who disappointed in his professional debut and struggled to find his footing amongst the ATP Tour for years.
His dreams of winning Wimbledon seemed further and further away when a knee injury sidelined him during his eighth season. The only bright side was re-connecting with his sister's best friend he hadn't seen in years, who reminded him to focus on what inspired him to play from the beginning.
