Summary
Not all of the Anti-Personnel Control Squad died when the cavern collapsed; some of them escaped through the tunnel Hange, Moblit, and Armin used. And when the two parties meet, the Anti-Personnel Control Squad takes the three Scouts hostage with the intent to force the Survey Corps’ hand. This slight deviation from canon leads to major consequences that have a resounding effect on the characters involved.
This story takes a deeper look into the mental worlds of Hange and Levi, and it deals with both canon and non-canon events. Despite being pushed to the brink, they keep going – but living as a member of the Scout Regiment is never easy, so their road is one wrought with tragedy and desperation. Behind the scenes, how do they fare with their new responsibilities in the wake of new and old trauma?
