Summary
After moving into Haddonfield for your job as a substitute teacher by the nearby high school, you were oblivious to your surroundings. It wasn't until then you had watched the news on a particularly cloudy day, noting the amount of murder cases rising. The killer was known as Michael. Michael Myers. You weren’t entirely sure what to make of him. That man. The one who sat in the very back of the lecture hall like some silent, brooding storm. There was something ghost-like about the way he lingered there, half-shadowed and unreadable, as if he was daring someone to acknowledge him. No one ever did. The seats near him stayed empty, his space unbothered like it was marked off by some invisible barrier.
You exhaled softly, catching yourself staring again, and turned away. “Why do you keep looking at that freak?” a voice chimed in from nearby—one of your friends, more amused than concerned. Right. Your 'friends.'
“No reason,” you said casually, a small shrug as you sipped your drink. But you were lying. You’d never tell them the truth. Not about him. Not ever.

Summary
Bucky is presented a choice: Go to jail or go with the stranger who's willing to pay his bail, give him an easy life, and give him a head start on a future. It's not much of a choice. He's got no clue why Steve Rogers does what he does, but Bucky's not about to let an opportunity to get off the streets and out of jail slip by.
He doesn't expect to get to know Steve Rogers. Or like him. Or want him. But it happens anyway, even though Steve seems determined to be a benefactor when Bucky would like him to be so much more.
Things change finally, and Bucky finds an adult relationship has adult problems. Those usually don't involve an age difference, a lack of shared life experience, and political intrigue.
