On a bright morning in late June, the Cameron children were awoken by the sounds of sirens whizzing up the street. It immediately struck Sarah as odd, because sirens were not heard and police were not seen on this side of the island. Figure Eight was a beautiful, well-maintained bubble where bad things never happened.
She had just started to wonder if an elderly resident had died when the bubble around Tanneyhill was shattered, rather violently, when the sirens stropped right in front of the house. She didn’t have time to accept that police were there at Tanneyhill before they began knocking on the door, brandishing an arrest warrant. -
