Summary
After the invasion of New York when the Avengers move to arrest Loki, he makes an attempt on his own life which leaves the Avengers with questions they don't trust Loki to answer honestly. So, on Heimdall's suggestion, they call upon the help of a nearby citizen who can tell if someone is lying or not- a blind legal intern named Matt Murdock.

Tommy has been through a lot.
In fact, he's gone through enough for me to find at least one (arguably canon or canon-compliant) instance of every fear category from The Magnus Archives.This started as a joke (see working title) and turned into more of a writing exercise. Every paragraph (excluding the first and last) correlates to one of The Fears. First I wanted to stick to just Smirke's original Fourteen, but then I thought of something for the Extinction, so that's here too. You don't need to be familiar with The Magnus Archives to read this.
If I need to add or chance a tag, please tell me (preferably with an explanation for future reference).

Hurt-Comfort / Angst
Sort of an Episode Tag to 'Shawn Takes a Shot in the Dark'
Disclaimer: Don't own Psych but I do have a pineapple.Wow. Just Wow. I never expected to get totally sucked in by Psych. I wrote my first story, 'Succulent Crab Cakes' because I was fascinated by the unlikely hero with the incredible abilities all hidden behind a façade of boyish charm that is Shawn Spencer – but then I couldn't stop.
Anyways – this story quickly took on a life of its own and surprised me by becoming over twice as long as anything I've written previously.
There will be Friendship and Love (but not the romantic kind). There will be Whump and Angst, a mystery to solve and hopefully it will all make sense at the end. (Feel free to call me on it if it doesn't)
Also - just to clarify, we know that 'Garth Longmore' survived being shot, since he is seen being loaded into an ambulance in "Shawn Takes a Shot" but for the purposes of this story, he died en route.

Gus knew his best friend's greatest fear: Shawn's mind was his super-power. He feared losing that power more than he feared death. Confusion was Shawn's kryptonite and he was staring it in the face. Poisoned by a neurotoxin, Shawn must fight the effects long enough to solve the case and save the day. Shawn whump, with lots of friendship and family thrown in. Rated T just in case.
