In an empire built on conquest and doctrine, love becomes a crime the moment an imperial officer, Sven (stv) hires an oppressed civilian, Sebastian (zsb) into his office. Sebastian belongs to a race marked for erasure. For him, survival means obedience. For Sven, caring becomes an act of treason.
Far from the capital, war forges something far uglier. A brilliant captain, Jorund (sjw) and his lieutenant, Kjaerand (cwk) are praised for their efficiency and brutality, even as they struggle with a truth the Empire would execute them for. Homosexuality is a crime, and desire is weakness, while attachment is punishable by death. Jorund obeys the doctrine with terrifying devotion... yet cannot erase what he feels. Kjaerand knows what being discovered would cost them both, and hates that it still matters.
