    Summary

Any half-foot who does this kind of thing has to be at least a little screwy in the head. And what does that make you, idiot? The guy who could take them further than anyone else? He put his head in his hands and groaned. An admission that only showed up in particular moments of self-loathing, or drunkenness: he was just as fucking weird as Laios. That was at least part of what made it so annoying to watch him -- secondhand embarrassment about impulses and desires he'd long since buried in himself. Why couldn't Laios just do the same? It must've been easier for tall-men, Chilchuck thought, to stride through the world with bluster and without shame. That irked him, too, but at least the usual tall-man tendency to loom and sneer and posture made sense to him, probably because it's the same kind of shit he would do if he could. Laios was much harder to understand than his usual clientele.
    -
Chilchuck hates being reminded of his physical limitations compared to other races; with Laios, though, it's... different.

    Summary

“I had wondered—” Erwin coughs again, and is cowed into lowering his gaze when the Captain looks at him. He has the most scrutinising of stares. Erwin isn’t sure if he can see out of his left eye, but in that moment, it could well be penetrating his heart. “Ah, that is. In your letter, you didn’t mention much. Of what you expected from me during this session.”

The Captain takes so long to answer, that Erwin begins to think he does not feel inclined to say anything at all. He finishes his tea, and returns his cup to the tray. “What does your job usually entail?”

“Usually? Well, I might accompany a client to an event, or have dinner with them, or simply keep them company.”

“Do you have sex with them?”

    “Yes.” Erwin swallows.
