Do you want me to go.

Do you want me to go and it echoes with slamming doors fifty years past and gone, a flicker of horrible unexpected memory spilling out from containment Vox had thought was secure, he’d parked it in such distant long-term storage where it should be safe from anybody’s eyes, including his, and here it is like a leak of something horribly corrosive burning its way back to the present: slamming doors, and beyond them the rapidly fading tak tak tak of heels on polished tile, striding away from him, out of his life, out of his sphere of influence, dwindling, receding, with the sickly echo of irretrievability.

Vox's version of the events described in to tear your little world apart

    Summary

“I dunno how you started the evening,” says Husk, leaning back against the counter with his arms folded, trying not to think about the fact that the Radio Demon is sitting in his fucking apartment kitchen in the worst shape he’s seen anyone in for quite a while now. “But you finished it by drinking a bottle and a half of Triple Six, murdering a couple of people, and then puking your guts all over what was left of them and the bar.”

“Ah,” says Alastor faintly, eyes shut. The shadows under them really do look cruelly bruised, as if someone has hit him in the face recently. Maybe someone has. “That does seem to follow what I can recall.”

    or

The one where it’s Husk’s turn to tell Angel a story, in the coldest winter Hell has had in ages: this part is about how Alastor and Vox first fell out, all those years ago.

    Summary

--Which came first, the television or the demon?

--It is taking everything in my power to avoid saying “that’s what she said.”

--oh, fuck you, you know what I mean

--all right, since I’m in an uncharacteristically outgoing mood tonight --

--and you can’t actually go out with him tonight because it’s fucking snowing in Hell, which I still can’t believe --

--are you trying to talk yourself out of hearing this story? no? then shut your face. Husk, be a dear and make him another cosmo so he can’t interrupt me for two seconds, and I shall relate what I actually remember from the early days of Vox’s sojourn in Hell.

    Summary

In the chaos that follows the botched Extermination, Vox is smoking like a chimney, which is probably why it takes him quite so long to realize that something is actually wrong with him.

The carnation petals are a little harder to ignore. He's not sure if the color has some sort of symbolic meaning, but it doesn't matter a hell of a lot when you get right down to it, when they're streaked with your own blood.

Vox knows what this is. He also knows how this one ends, and perhaps, all things considered, that wouldn't be the worst possible outcome one could imagine.

    Summary

After the failed Extermination and the ad-hoc reconstruction of the Hazbin Hotel, Charlie Morningstar is elated to find her occupancy numbers reaching near-half-capacity, as sinners begin to turn up one by one at her doorstep, wanting to know more about the hope she's been trying to provide, the outstretched hand of something that might echo absolution. It's starting to feel like this whole endeavor might actually make a difference, and having her father with her makes everything better.

But her facilities manager has been hiding a worsening problem underneath the cheery radio filter and the inability to stop smiling like that all the time. Her bartender and housekeeper are bad at concealing concern. Angel Dust can't help but notice something seems to be up with his unspeakable boss and the other Vees.

And despite their many, many differences, Lucifer and Alastor may finally have one thing in common: something both of them would very much rather forget; but this is Hell, nor are they out of it, and Hell is not about to give anybody what they want.
